10 Christmasy Rooftops

Fabulous, festive fun! ⛸🎄🍃🏠🥌🌃🥂🐧☃️

It’s the season to be jolly, which is ironic considering it’s frickin freezing but never fear there’s a an array of wonderful winter weather proof rooftops awaiting you! 🥳

Some rooftops put their winter hat on and turn up the heat and others go one step futher and transform into their own winter wonderlands. This year I have checked out 10 of them…

1. Alto

Festive fun: Hideaway huts 🏠

The first of two department stores that offers you a rooftop to refuel after all the Christmas/ sale shopping. Alto’s resturant has definitely got its hat on but it’s the garden outside that has sprung up with these gorgeous hideaway huts. (And if you are brave enough theres some squidgy sofas to enjoy any winter sun we may get!)

2. Angler

Festive fun: Pink and frosty 💕

A quieter smaller rooftop, adjacent to their resturant, has had a pink fairy dusting make over, perfect for an aperitif or a lazy winter afternoon.

Festive fun: Igloos 🌃

It’s all about igloos at the Avairy, igloos and that view! 🤩 Their restaurant is indoors but step outside and you can be WOWed in the comfort of your own igloo – whatever the weather!

4. Bar Elba

Festive fun: Ice rink ⛸

Always a fun party destination right by Waterloo Station. It’s also quite a sensible rooftop that gets its winter coat at this time of year = all year use. But this year they have gone one step further… and built an ice rink ⛸ (As it’s on the way for commuters, it’s perfect for some fun on the way home or while you wait for your delayed train! 🙄)

5. Jin Bo Law

Festive fun: Mr Penguin 🐧

Ok, so I know Mr Penguin isn’t new … but he’s moved outdoors since my last visit and brought with him lots of snuggly rugs and blankets to keep you warm with whilst enjoying the stunning view and hanging with him 🤗

6. John Lewis Roof fest

Festive fun: Curling lane 🥌

The second of our department store rooftops, usually famed for its ice rink, this year they have gone rogue and build a Curling Lane powered by Google! You also have to try one of their festive drinks – personal fav – Butterscotch Kiss 💋 – (Disaronno Liqueur, butterscotch liqueur, hot coffee, chocolate shavings) enjoy in one of their cosy cabins oh and say hello to ‘Edgar’ their Christmas tree🎄

7. Madison’s

Festive fun: Cosy chalets 🍃🍃

I mean with their view they don’t need to do too much to attract me but embracing the winter weather they have created little snugs & chalets with blankets and lots of bubbles. Wrap up and get festive with one of the most iconic London landmarks.

8. Radio Rooftop

Festive fun: Watching the ice skating below ⛸

With Somerset house’s ‘Skate’ ice rink across the road, this rooftop is all about sitting on their (now covered up) cosy sofas or enjoying fine dining sipping champers while watching the folk below burn your calories for you!

9. Savage Schloss

Festive fun: An Austrian Apres Ski lodge🎿

This rooftop didn’t convert its popular terrace like most, nope, they build a new festive lodge just for winter! Feast that ski induced famine in this pop up bar without all the hard work of actually skiing! 😎 Also points for the name 👏

10. Skylight

Festive fun: What have they not got! Igloos, views, ice rink, ice hockey slap, cosy cabins and even a Christmas singalong! 🎶 ⛸🎄🏠🌃

Yes this really is the Christmas of Christmas rooftops! And whilst it seems further than others, it really is worth it (only 15 mins walk from Tower Hill). Booking available so no fear of getting there and finding no room at the inn. With so much to do in one place you can make it a fun festive rooftop day out!
