Rooftop review roundup: What a stunning rooftop bar and restaurant! With the inscription ‘For one minute, stand there in silence, look up to the sky, and contemplate how amazing life is,’ you can certainly feel this from this vantage point. Avaton 1739 is set on the rooftop of an old monastery, which before that was a Venetian castle. It is an uphill walk through the town but they have a lift when you get there and it is so worth the effort. Standing proud over the city, this spot offers some of the best views on the island. I came for brunch and it was one of the best egg white omelettes I’ve ever had. Open from early morning to very late at night, this has to be one of the best rooftop bars in Naxos and certainly in the Cyclades islands.

Rooftop review roundup: Opened in 1991, named after the owner saw Flamingos on Naxos, this rooftop bar is a pink explosion of colour and flowers. I would say in full bloom it would be even more vibrant, it felt a little tired but it was early June. A huge terrace with covered areas and views over the water this was a great spot for a pink drink – of course! Cocktails (pink lady) or their Flamingo rose! We also had some small plates which hit the spot – not amazing food but great for a snack to soak up the cocktails and wine.

Rooftop review roundup: Full disclosure and it still makes me sad that this rooftop bar was closed when I went. I had stalked on socials and feared as much. BUT that didn’t stop me enjoying posing by their very cool entrance of a Smeg fridge or their cool blue stairs. Swing rooftop bar is known for their insta worthy cocktails which look amazing but sob I didn’t get to taste any but I would still recommend this rooftop if you are a fan of the aesthetic rooftop bar! Just note it doesn’t open till after the penultimate ferry back to Paros goes!
