Hotel with a Rooftop in Paris

La Fantaisie Hotel Paris Review

I have been coming to Paris since I was 11. I’ve lived here, celebrated New Years and big birthdays here, and for years wished for a hotel close to the Eurostar that had a rooftop which felt special. I finally found one. In this review, I share exactly what the stay was like – from the room and location to whether the rooftop genuinely adds value or is simply a nice extra. If you’re deciding whether this rooftop hotel is worth booking for your trip to Paris, this honest breakdown will help you decide if this is the right fit for you.

🍽️ Restaurant & Bar

Breakfast: Good, with lots of choice
Bubbles at breakfast: Additional cost
Bar / restaurant: The downstairs bar and restaurant, where breakfast is served, is as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. The courtyard mirrors the rooftop with its colourful, relaxed garden theme and flows effortlessly into the glorious garden themed indoor restaurant. We ate both breakfast and dinner here. Dinner hadn’t been the plan, but when the heavens opened, staying cosy, dry and indulging in the hotel felt like a treat rather than a compromise staying in (we’ve also both lived in Paris, so it never felt like we were missing out). It’s a shame the rooftop only serves snacks and drinks, as it would have been a perfect place to stay for the evening but the cocktails tasted just as good downstairs. With an exceptional menu, we were well fed and the evening turned into the restful, stress-free evening we both really needed while fully living this five-star dream. My biggest stress? The wine measures being small and needing a bottle!

🥂 Rooftop

✍️ La Fantaisie Hotel Paris Review Summary

What a treasure trove of a hotel. Tucked just off Rue La Fayette, you step into an oasis of what Leitmotiv – the family-owned French hospitality group behind the hotel, calls “casual luxury.” I’d go further and say this boutique hotel feels like staying with family. Floral designs always makes me think of grandmothers, and here it felt like staying with your favourite granny but in her beautifully modernised home – complete with all the home treats from that idealised version of family life.
The hotel’s “Dream of the Garden” concept pays homage to the land’s history of vegetable growing, with astonishingly thoughtful attention to detail, including Versailles-style wallpaper. Rue de Cadet itself is a local hideaway, offering a slice of real Paris away from heavy tourism. The hotel integrates seamlessly into the neighbourhood, with a street-facing café reinforcing that connection. As a guest, you get the best of both worlds — a stay that’s genuinely worth spending time in, not just somewhere to sleep. Anything less would be a travesty.
