Rooftop review roundup: In my naivety, I had pictured Valencia entirely as an old Spanish town, but the views from here revealed a remarkably modern and almost futuristic side of the city. On one side, the historic Valencia cityscape unfolded, while on the other, the magnificent Arts and Sciences building offered a striking contrast, providing a fresh perspective on this Spanish gem. Visiting during the shoulder season, I found the days to be scorching hot, a perfect excuse to indulge in the rooftop pool if you’re staying at the hotel. I’d be keen to return for sunset drinks when it’s a bit cooler to capture the sunset on this side of town. (Also if walking here from the main city then don’t miss the Turia Gardens café – such a gorgeous spot!)

Rooftop review roundup: Stunning beachside restaurant, ideal for romantic dates or birthday celebrations. It is a bit of a stretch to be a rooftop restaurant but it’s above the ground so it counts! The food is delicious, although the service can be a bit slow, reflecting the laid-back Valencia vibe. I would email in advance for an outdoor table facing the sea, as that is where the magic is. But even if the weather isn’t ideal, the sound of crashing waves creates a captivating escape from the ordinary.
