Discover the rooftop bars in West London, where a small but growing collection of hidden gems awaits. From leafy Richmond with its riverside views (now famous thanks to ‘Ted Lasso’ (which I’ve still never watched!) to sipping cocktails next door to television history at BBC Television Centre (where I once worked) – these rooftops hold a special place in my rooftop-loving heart. Being a West Londoner aka ‘Westie’ West London’s rooftop bars may not offer the capital’s iconic skyline venues. But they do offer a more intimate, local and alfresco experience. That said, West London has firmly put itself on the rooftop map in recent years. In 2025, it welcomed London’s highest rooftop bar. And in 2026 we’re seeing not one, not two, but three new rooftop bars open as part of Olympia’s transformation. West really is best!
I’ve personally visited all of these West London rooftops. Page last updated 2026.

Rooftop review roundup: Bar Arriba has arrived at West London’s rooftop party and it’s brought the tequila! And I was here for that! If you hadn’t guessed – this is a mexican bar and restaurant located on top of the newly transformed Olympia development. Friendly welcoming staff all working hard while finding their feet. The restaurant at Bar Arriba occupies the front of the space, while its bar sits towards the back, with plenty of seating options creating different pockets for socialising, dining and drinking. And with a retractable roof it keeps us dry whatever the British weather decides to do, making this a rooftop you can enjoy year-round.
Bottomless brunch arrives on June 27th – bottomless options of food and or booze! Saturdays just got elevated in West London. I’m already looking forward to returning, especially for cocktails that felt like they were created with me in mind. The Elderflower Champagne Paloma and their twist on a Piña Colada instantly transported me somewhere much sunnier than West Kensington. Summer here, is going to feel like being abroad.

Rooftop review roundup: Holiday vibes set by TV history on this rooftop bar! The historic BBC Television Centre proudly stands behind the bar, though now just known as Television Centre after it was sadly sold. Home now to a Soho House, Flats and just on the edge of this site – this rooftop bar! As a former BBC employee this was definitely a time to reminisce on a rooftop! It also sits dangerously opposite Westfield – the perfect location for pre or post shopping. Laid back vibes and, great service this was a much needed addition to the rooftop bar scene. Rooftop review roundup: West London has been waiting for its moment to shine with a rooftop bar worthy of its postcode prestige and Ce La Vi has officially taken the crown. Take a bow, because this is now the highest rooftop bar in London. Based on the concept of its siblings in Dubai and Singapore, height is king here! Towering over the city, this gorgeous new addition brings a lavish vibe, complete with a red carpet welcome. The outdoor terrace wraps around the ravishing red indoor bar, and with retractable glass to keep things cosy in winter, al fresco drinks on a cold night feel like a true treat.
Sadly, unlike its Dubai counterpart, there’s no fabulous floral swing to pose on, and there’s quite a gap between the edge and the seating. Perfect for anyone with acrophobia (or whose partner does!) but less ideal if you’re all about the drinks-with-a-view pics, I was (kindly) told off, though I genuinely didn’t know! It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out depending on their clientele. Either way, this rooftop is historic for its height and it’s giving London a whole new level of lux. you won’t be disappointed.

Rooftop review roundup: Coffee, champers, catch-ups, and cinema? South West London has a rooftop bar for all of it! Perched atop the Curzon Cinema in the Bentalls Centre, you can forget the popcorn and pop the Prosecco before your movie. It does get super busy in the summer as it’s not just for film fanatics, with their deals, it also works perfectly for pre drinks before hitting the town.

Warm/dry weather only? No – open roof closes up
Rooftop review roundup: Around since the 1960s, The Half Moon is best known as a live music venue, with gigs most nights downstairs, which means its roof terrace often gets overlooked. It, as advertised does have a retractable roof, but just to set expectations, this isn’t a rooftop bar in the way you might typically think of one. Instead, there are two large skylights that open up to the elements and windows that can open up. When I viisted it was just the sky that was opened and whilst it didn’t give that full outdoor feeling, it still offers a subtle sense of escape. And so I’m including it on that merit. It’s bright, relaxed, and offers a different kind of rooftop experience. The staff were genuinely welcoming – Alana was super friendly and chatty. , and it works just as well for a casual catch-up with friends as it does for a solo visit.. Nice to come with friends or solo. You’d be very welcome if you fancy a feeling of outdoor with the comfort of a pub feel.

Rooftop review roundup: Lillie’s Rooftop Bar & Restaurant at Olympia exudes English elegance from the moment you arrive. Descending a few steps into the space, I felt as though I had been transported to a beautiful country garden rather than standing above one of London’s busiest and newest developments.
Sparkling wine immediately sprang to mind as I took in the greenery, beautifully dressed tables and relaxed garden atmosphere. The fact that the rooftop overlooks Olympia station and neighbouring houses barely registered. This rooftop successfully transports you to the quintessential English summer. The only thing missing was cricket on the lawn and pimms!
As someone who spent years working in branding, I didn’t fully appreciate what they had achieved until I opened the menu. And I was even more impressed – their drinks menu was centered around English Sparkling Wine and the cocktails – to evoke a british garden! The atmosphere I had instinctively felt had been carefully designed from the start. It was therefore no surprise to also see afternoon tea featured prominently on the menu. Everything simply makes sense. It’s rare to find a rooftop where the atmosphere, drinks and menu feel so perfectly aligned. Bravo Lillies! I look forward to returning wearing a floral green dress with the girls!

Sky Bar 9

Best for: 🥂🍸🍹🍕
Nearest tube: Wembley Park – 10 mins walk or from Wembley stadium 12 mins
Location: 9th floor of the Hilton Hotel (map)
View: Not much it’s more the opportunity to be able to be up high!
Vibe: So this is an evening only rooftop bar with music on the weekends and the vibe totally depends on the day and hotel guests! So if there’s a big game or event near then it’s buzzing, if not then it attracts guests pre night out or night cap.
Prosecco price: 🍾🍾🍾
Food available? Yes – Snacks
Booking available? Yes
Smoking allowed? Yes
Lift available? Yes

Warm/dry weather only? No – heaters and umbrellas plus there’s an indoor area if it wanted the height but not the frosty bite!
Rooftop review roundup: A much needed rooftop for the area. Despite the lack of views it’s in a prime location for footie, music and shopping fans with the iconic Wembley Stadium moments away and set in the heart of the designer outlet. Staff are ridiculously friendly and helpful and currently it’s all about the cava in glamorous white bottles and matching glasses!

Skylark Roof Garden
Official World Rooftop Day venue 2026

Best for: 🍹🥂🍸🍷
Nearest tube: Paddington – 10 minute walk
Location: On top of a business building. Their sister chain Hucksters is on the ground floor and is a vibe (map)
View: Hyde Park, the shard if you look closely!
Vibe: Girls that brunch
Prosecco price: 🍾🍾
Food available? Yes
Booking available? Yes – only open on the weekends as the rooftop is reserved for those working in the building (note to self: find a new job!).
Smoking allowed? No
Lift available? Yes
Last visited /photos taken: 2025
Warm/dry weather only? Yes – they have the option to move down to their Hucksters bar if it rains
Rooftop review roundup: Only open at weekends, Skylark Roof Garden is very much a destination rooftop bar thanks to its slightly more remote location. And they know it – so have planned accordingly. This 2026 summer, they’ve set the scene for Santorini in London with their new PRIMADONNA concept, bringing plenty of main-character energy and Greek island vibes.
They charge a small entry fee of just a few pounds, which helps avoid the disappointment of turning away walk-ins when booked tables end up as no-shows. You can also upgrade your visit with food and drinks packages. This is definitely a chilled rooftop that becomes the party. If the sun is shining, it’s the sort of place where you arrive for a drink and somehow stay from day to night. Ideal for girly catch-ups, celebrations and groups who prefer settling into one venue for the whole day.

Rooftop review roundup: A treasure trove in west London and a welcomed addition for when it’s hot hot hot in the city. It is a private members club so you do need to either be a member or know one who can sign you in. The members tend to be the media crowd having meetings, networking or working from this luxury! The poolside though is strictly no laptops in the day – very much down time fun but get there early on a heat wave as the pool is standing room only!

Sonnys Riverside

Warm/dry weather only? No – winter & weather friendly!
Rooftop review roundup: Opened summer 2025, Kingston Riveria shone and shimmered from this new rooftop bar. With cocktails on point and stunning river views, it’s quickly becoming a favourite local hotspot (I’m a London westie, so I’m calling it!).And smartly, they’ve even got a cosy winter contingency to keep the vibes flowing year-round. If you are visiting London from overseas then probably not one to leave London for – zone 6 is far but the river views here do beat many in London! Just saying.

Syon Lounge

Best for: 🍸🍽️
Nearest tube: Not on a tube line. Syon Lane station would be the nearest overland. And then it’s a 20 min walk.
Location: Syon Park at the Hilton Hotel (map)
View: The park
Vibe: Boujee with TV screens for footie
Prosecco price: 🍾🍾
Food available? Yes
Booking available? Yes
Smoking allowed? Yes
Last visited /photos taken: 2022
Warm/dry weather only? No it’s covered
Rooftop review roundup: This rooftop has me a little confused. Set in the beautiful Syon Park next to the stunning conservatory. It’s a magnet for those that love Shisha and sushi… and some telly! There’s the boujee cocktails and neon signs and open into the wee hours. But equally had a pub feel with all the huge screens. Also it’s not really walkable – there’s a lot of super fancy cars racing in and out. And despite calling itself a rooftop – it is covered but sides are open. So I’m including it due to its name. If you are in the area and that’s sounds like your vibe then worth a visit but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go.

The Lyric Bar & Grill

Booking available? Yes

Warm/dry weather only? Yes
Rooftop review roundup: A charming secret rooftop garden bar in West London. The Lyric Theatre offers more than performances. It also has this rooftop hideaway. It may not offer classic London views, but it’s perfect for summer vibes when the popular spots are packed. Or, like me, your bus stop is just across the road. You wait 40 minutes and nothing turns up. At that point, you know you’re not getting home any time soon. You need somewhere calm to escape the frustrations of TfL. Whether you’re after pre-theatre drinks and dinner or a spot for casual catch-ups, this cosy venue fits the bill.

Warm/dry weather only? There is a downstairs enclosed area but on the whole if it rained then game over.
Rooftop review roundup: Arrived in Richmond in June 2022 from the Daisy Green collection who spread Aussie vibes round London. With the perfectly pink parasols area this rooftop bar-age spans views over Richmond riverside giving the holiday vibes. There’s also a gorgeous little downstairs area which throws open the windows when it’s hot which really reminded me of The Summer house. Definitely a great new different addition to Richmond.

Warm/dry weather only? No – the roof retracts
Rooftop review roundup: Having inherited the space from Revolution, this restaurant and bar injects a sense of sophistication into West London. Adorned with crisp white linen tablecloths and a chic indoor bar, the venue seamlessly transitions to the terrace, offering a tranquil calm from the bustling riverside crowds below. However, it’s worth noting that the prices here are on the higher side, so save for that special occasion.

Wolves of Tokyo

Rooftop review roundup: As you ascend to the very high escalator of the newly renovated and just-opened Olympia center, the first venue you’ll encounter is Wolves of Tokyo. Having visited Japan just a few months ago, I was excited to discover a Japanese rooftop restaurant so close to home as a West Londoner. (And whilst this rise to the top was impressive – Tokyo’s Shibua Sky Rooftop does win (rooftop reviews coming soon!)
The huge neon sign meant I couldn’t miss it (although I did initially get lost, top tip – if you’re arriving from the station and don’t look up, turn left, not right!). Walking out onto Wolves of Tokyo’s rooftop I was met with the warmest of welcomes (I was a walk in to see what it is really like) What surprised me most was how quiet it was, given the popularity of sushi and all things Japan, but it was day three of it being open. I can imagine hot summer nights here will be popular.
Burnt-red seating echoes the colours of Tokyo, while the rooftop itself arguably offers the best views of Olympia’s new rooftop venues. This is due to positioning jutting out slightly further than its neighbours. Sheltered beneath a huge weatherproof glass canopy, it can accomdate all weathers without losing that magical rooftop feeling.
Cocktails such as ‘Letters to Tokyo’ and ‘Sake Martini’ gave me a genuine pang of nostalgia for my recent trip. The menu caters equally well for those popping in for a drink and trip down memory lane or for a full dining experience. Offering everything from small plates to tasting menus, you may well end up doing both. 楽しむ (tanoshimu)!
