11 Best Rooftop Bars & Restaurants in Prague

Prague is the perfect destination for unusual and historic rooftops. From the famed Terasa U Prince – one of the most photographed viewpoints – to dancing on a rooftop nightclub at Duplex,. Views range from the Astronomical Clock to Prague Castle, so there’s plenty for every rooftop taste! I went to Prague to party, drink prosecco, and celebrate my big birthday, whilst trying local wine and cuisine. Their rooftops were absolutely perfect for it. So I’m sharing my best rooftop bars and restaurants in Prague. Whether you’re visiting to party, sightsee, or pose for the prettiest pictures against a gorgeous Gothic backdrop, pour yourself a beer to get practicing, and let’s go!

Rooftop review roundup: Terasa U Prince is the most Instagrammed rooftop view in Prague and has become a landmark in its own right. Did you even come to Prague if you didn’t pose for that perfect postcard shot (which also doubles as the ultimate souvenir photo)? This rooftop truly is the royalty of Prague, commanding all the instagrammers and tourists alike. If you want to feel right in the heart of Prague, surrounded by the city’s most famous landmarks, this rooftop is a must-visit. But be warned, it’s not quite as it seems! The lift is tiny (claustrophobics, take note!) and only takes you partway up, you’ll need to climb some stairs to reach the top. To the left is the restaurant, to the right is the bar and that iconic view. It’s far smaller than I expected, but the staff so much more patient than you’d imagine given the constant stream of sightseers just chasing the view.

Now, about that famous spot, it’s exactly what you’ll have seen all over social media. It’s even been nicknamed “Bubble Point”! It’s a narrow space where people have to wait, queue then jump in pose and snap their photo, and then step aside. If you’re seated on that side, you’ll have the best views but you will also have people constantly around you as they wait their turn. The day I visited, rain was forecast, so half the area was covered and it was quieter but aside getting the photo didnt feel it was that special. I’d say this rooftop is best enjoyed in sunshine or at sunset (though definitely book for the latter!). Is it worth it? Absolutely if you’re a seasoned Instagrammer or just love a great photo!

Rooftop review roundup: Above Rooftop is of my favourite rooftops in Prague. If you love comfy sofas, chilled vibes, and sipping bubbles while the sun sets over the city, then this spot will be a must for you too! It’s on the more upmarket end of Prague rooftops, sat on top of the wonderful yet expensive W Hotel but the sweeping city views and child-free atmosphere make it worth every penny.

Rooftop review roundup: When I visited Cloud One Rooftop, so did the rain! But that didn’t stop them from opening thankfully, they have a beautifully designed indoor bar to retreat to while you wait for the skies to clear. Open from 11am, it’s ideal for work meetings, casual catch-ups, or simply soaking in the stylish décor with a well-earned glass of champagne.

When the rain finally stopped, I stepped out onto the rooftop terrace and discovered what a treat it really is offering unique views over the streets of Prague below. I’d been tempted to stay at the hotel itself, but it was just a little further north than I needed this trip. That said, I’d definitely consider it next time. Either way, when I’m back in Prague, I’ll be returning to enjoy it in its full sunny glory (aka when the cocktails are calling!), one not to miss.

Warm/dry weather only? Yes – though there is an actual glass indoor area

Rooftop review roundup: I have mixed feelings about this unusual rooftop bar in Prague. Set on the equally acclaimed “Dancing House”, Glass Bar offers a unique rooftop experience and a different kind of viewpoint in this area. However, you have to pay to sit outside, which feels a little unfair especially for those who just want to enjoy the view having already paid for a drink. It would make more sense if you could choose to buy a drink or pay entry, rather than both.

Space is very limited, and you can’t see if there’s room until you’re outside another reason it makes no sense to charge. Thankfully, when I visited, there was room, and my friend managed to snag a great table. Other seating was around the metal sculpture, ‘medusa’ that dominates the area which didn;t give good views or was comfy sat on concrete! The experience feels a bit hit-or-miss, depending on timing and availability. But and this is a big but, the drinks are cheap! As they shoudl be in Prague but not usually at a rooftop and not one that charges entry so that was a bonus. Overall I’m not sure it’s worth it unless you’re lucky with your spot like I was or really keen on the view.

Warm/dry weather only? Yes and no!

Rooftop review roundup: Fly Vista could be one of my new all time favourite rooftops! There’s the rooftop (obviously!), which in the summer serves as a bar and is open for enjoying or taking photos on all year round. A floor below is the rooftop terrace with the same insane panorama over Prague, and lastly an indoor boujee bar and restaurant complete with bubbles in a bath. So whatever the weather, there’s a spot for you. I visited in September when temperatures were dropping, so I opted to eat indoors but enjoyed a drink on the top rooftop before the cold set in. I had been looking for somewhere with a vibe to hype us up before Duplex, being slightly older than when I used to frequent clubs that aren’t open-air clubs in Ibiza! And Fly Vista? Well, it flew! One minute we were enjoying dinner, the next the music cranked up, our waiter turned dancer, and the whole venue became a dance floor. Shots were being offered from those staff dancing on the bar, cocktails were flowing, and I wasn’t sure Duplex could top this experience as the craziness continued. Even if the weather doesn’t play ball, Fly Vista is a rooftop worthy of any season.

Warm/dry weather only? Yes

Rooftop review roundup: I came to Casablanca Rooftop Bar spontaneously for dinner before a night river cruise and what a find! Perfectly located near the Prague cruise port, we were lucky to nab a table outside. On a tight time frame, our waitress was brilliant, she managed to rush our order through while still keeping our glasses of rosé topped up! The food was delicious (though not cheap), and the service really stood out.

This is one of Prague’s newer, boujee rooftop bars, with plush indoor décor, ambient tunes, and a definite see-and-be-seen vibe. Outside felt calmer and more romantic, with couples and groups catching up under the night sky. The views over the river were magical, with the buildings beautifully illuminated at night the perfect pre- or post-cruise spot for a glamorous glass of bubbles.

Rooftop review roundup: First thing to know is that Duplex is a rooftop terrace on the nightclub, rather than an open-air rooftop club. I came here specifically to see Lost Frequencies play in Prague, having missed him in Ibiza, and I was hoping for an outdoor club experience but that’s not quite what this is.

There is, however, a terrace where you can step out for some fresh air and a breather – even a dance, before heading back to the dance floor. It also seemed to be a popular hangout or pick-up spot, so if that’s your vibe, you can at least hear yourself think and maybe even make a friend! A great well organised venue but not one to pop in for a drink. This is a night out!

Rooftop review roundup: Centrally located the Pytloun Rooftop offers stunning sunset views and cocktails to match. Covered in part to shade from the sun which does kinda ruin the pictures but keeps from sunburn Im here for it! Theres a few high tables at the bar area which we managed to nab without a reservation and some begging! The bar is small and so more limited in its offering. The white plastic tables and chairs felt a cheaper experince than I was expecting and I was glad I hadn’t booked a birthdat dinner here. It would be ideal for a causal meal with its incredible back drop. Sunset was a stunner so highly recommend for a drink at least!

Rooftop review roundup: If you’re looking for a restaurant with a view, traditional Czech food, and crafted beer, then Kuchyň is the spot for you. Technically, it’s not a rooftop since it’s not on a building, but it sits on the edge of an incredible viewpoint and you do have to climb a few steps to get there!

“Kuchyň” means kitchen, so the focus is on food but they also have a small bar terrace, perfect if you just fancy a local beer (it is also where the best vantage point for photos is). The food was wholesome, hearty, and, as with much Czech cuisine, wonderfully carb-filled, ideal for curing a hangover! If you are visiting the castle be sure to make a reservation.

Rooftop review roundup: I stumbled upon this informal yet stunning terrace boasting breathtaking backdrop of Prague’s skyline. Walking straight in from the cobbled streets, I wasn’t sure it qualified as a rooftop, but after an afternoon of chill vibes, cheap wine, and getting lost in the vast views, I’ve officially declared it a rooftop spot! It’s very laid-back, grab a drink from the drink trucks, find a seat, and soak up the DJ tunes and sunshine. I’d highly recommend visiting after exploring the castle, so you can reward yourself without feeling rushed. and if you fancy something more formal then just a few steps away is their vineyard, the oldest and smallest in the Czech Republic, offering wine tastings under a charming pergola -booking is required for that. Na zdraví!

Rooftop review roundup: This is a slightly unusual rooftop, tucked within the market itself and up just one floor but it still qualifies! Reminded me a bit of Box Park rooftop in London. The market below is buzzing with food, drinks, DJs, events, and even a pool, all of which the rooftop overlooks. I had actually booked a table as it was just a short walk away and I didn’t want to arrive and find it packed but the opposite was true! There were tons of tables free, which felt cheeky since they also charge a few euros for a reservation. It turned out to be a great, low-key spot to hang out, offering a relaxed atmosphere and inexpensive drinks perfect if you’re looking for something less touristy in Prague.
