Rooftop review roundup: Up Sky Society rooftop has fast become one of my all-time favourite rooftop bars and having reviewed hundreds, that’s saying something! My first visit It was the night of my big birthday, a new decade had begun, and I was in sequins, ready to dance below to Calvin Harris. I booked the rooftop for a drink, when I booked Ushuaia tickets – (it comes as an extra you can add on). I expected to have just one cocktail, as I couldn’t find much online about this rooftop. But there is now a year later and what a treat! Clearly a hidden gem (though after my reel on it hit 280K views, maybe not so hidden anymore!).

The views are insane. And the bonus was being encouraged to come back after – which I would recommend to any rooftop lovers. Rather than heading early to Hi and queuing or another club as 11pm is way too early anyways – go straight across from Ushuaia entrance and up here. You can refuel without paying crazy prices (a rosé was 8.5 Euros ). And they close at 1am, which is just perfect. I mentioned it was my big birthday, and they went above and beyond, perfect table, candles, cake, and drinks to celebrate – hence why they insisted I came back at 11pm. It really made the day extra special. If you don’t fancy the crowd at Ushuaia then you can just head up for a drink! Which I did a year later when i came back and they were just as wonderful. What a gem!

Rooftop review roundup: The Hard Rock Hotel that ‘The Ninth’ Rooftop sat on top of has been taken over for the 2026 season and slight re brand of the name to Cloud 9. Looking forward to see what they do with the space when it opens for the season June 5th. I have been told it will be similar in decor so for now these photos stay! When I visited it was a quiet evening as it just as it opened for the night but wow the views are spectacular. However it is competing with it’s neighbour rooftop offering views of Ushuaia. However if you don’t fancy that then it’s an ideal setting for a date night or to join one of their signature events.

Rooftop review roundup: A rooftop that has a bar, restaurant and pool all open to the public. Like many hotel pools you can book a day pass at Rooftop Nine for their beds. Read more about the rooftop pool and how there is very little shade! The restaurant area is ideal for a spot of lunch though more for hotel guests or pool passes that you would make the effort to come especially. Evenings are surprisingly very chill with a few covers for a sunset fancier dinner. Or just relax for a drink. I did really love this rooftop, especially as I was staying here, it’s just a shame about the shade and slightly slow service but points definitely go to the DJs. Great tunes. Rooftop review roundup: My first visit to Bel Vue Rooftop at the Amare was July 2025 and it was hot. I booked sunset drinks at the rooftop and needed a side of fan and ice! There is no shade and even at 7pm you need it. It was much quieter than I was expecting but that suited us. The sea views and uninterrupted sunset vibes are worth coming for – that could mean the cocktails quality could be compromised but absolutely were not. Though they were pricey at €16 but aesthetically beautiful. So the odd one was worth it. However I was back May 2026 this time to stay and those prices on a daily basis were steep. But the sunsets delivered.

Not to confuse things the rooftop restaurant has another name – ‘Hayaca’ which doesn’t open until 4pm which is a shame if you are spending the day lazying on the rooftop as definitely needed food before then as the bar being open is dangerous! By day, as there is no shade, the bar is very quiet with drinks being consumed and delivered to sunbeds. It gets busier for sunset – still, it’s not a destination I would recommend in it’s own right, if I wasn’t staying in the bay. That said, I would highly recommend coming for chilled sunset cocktails followed by dinner as it is all a stunning setting. (Plus it has the fabulous colourful Ibiza sign – that is a must to be snapped by!)

Rooftop review roundup: New for 2025, Cielito Rooftop Bar landed with style, on top of the then equally new hotel, right opposite O Beach. Mexican themed with the motto ‘more tequila less drama’. Burnt orange furniture matches the red soil Ibiza is known for and an infinity pool for guests with stunning views across to Ibiza bay. I’d actually booked to stay here but decided against it after hearing about some classic new hotel teething issues. But I did book to have rooftop drinks and dinner, as part of my birthday week, but was bumped ten days before, for a celeb! However when I popped in for a drink, the staff were lovely and naturally had to have the Mexican induced Paloma! It didn’t disappoint. I was back in 2026 this time for sunset and it was a super chilled and the sunset – just stunning . (And no, you couldn’t hear O beach!)

Rooftop review roundup: This rooftop stole my heart a little when, without even knowing me, they embraced World Rooftop Day and even made a reel to celebrate it! So of course, I couldn’t not come and check it out. I arrived early, just as it opened, perfectly peaceful and quiet, just how I like it when solo rooftoping.

Come for a less boujee experience, specialising in steak, bottomless brunches, and views over the harbour it’s in the perfect spot for golden hour drinks before things get crazy! As the balmy nights roll in, the vibe shifts and the energy builds with their club below. Rio Rooftop is ideal for those looking for a fun, relaxed evening without the Ibiza price tag! (Top tip is they have a lot of events but they are not listed on their website, so check our socials for what’s on)

Rooftop review roundup: Café del Mar is less of a café and more of a music hub, bar, and waterfront restaurant. Opened in 1980, it’s an Ibiza institution that became synonymous with sunsets. World famous for its chill out albums and prime seatings as the sun drops into the ocean in front of it, this is one of those iconic Ibiza experiences everyone should do at least once.

When I first came here, you could just rock up and grab a seat at the bar or a table for dinner and there wasn’t a rooftop! Now, there are minimum spends in place. I was pleasantly surprised that they weren’t as steep as it’s equally famed, Mambo next door. I booked months in advance, having spotted that Clockwork Orange were playing on my first night. But just a week before going, I received an email saying that the minimum spend had changed to €150 per person due to the event or I could cancel. I emailed to say they should honour the booking but never got a reply. Poor form and such a shame, as I do love this place, especially as they now have a little rooftop terrace. I didn’t go to the event but did pop in for a sunset drink for old times’ sake. If you’ve never been, I’d still recommend it as it is pure sunset music magic… just maybe don’t commit to any hefty minimum spends.

Rooftop review roundup: Whilst Sunset Ashram isn’t technically a rooftop in the traditional sense, I’m including it because it’s perched high over the ocean with those stunning views and all the vibes I love about rooftops. Once a hippy hangout, it’s now very much the place to be seen at sunset. I went in July and it was rammed. This spot works either as a full night out in its own right or as a warm-up before heading elsewhere. The main area felt a bit overwhelming, but I found little pockets of tables along the walkway where the views were absolutely spectacular. I’d heard it was overhyped, but honestly? The vibe was vibing, if that’s your sunset thing!

Rooftop review roundup: Blau Park Hotel made my shortlist for places to stay thanks to its recent refurbishment and rooftop but it was just pipped by another option. Still, I couldn’t resist popping by to check it out, and I’m so glad I did. The rooftop is a prime sunset spot, with sea views that are nothing short of spectacular.

If you’re considering staying here, it’s worth noting the rooftop pool area has little shade which is a theme for most rooftops in San Antonio. The bar area feels more like a relaxed poolside snack bar than a standalone destination, but for a peaceful sunset swim or quiet evening drink, this rooftop delivers for its guests. Non guests can also enjoy this secret sunset spot by buying a day pass. Between the infinity pool, the golden-hour glow, and those views, it’s picture perfect.

Rooftop review roundup: Looking for a rooftop with flair and personality? Cubicanto’s rooftop bar, Malecón, is for you. Tucked just above San Antonio Bay, this rooftop is well worth the detour. They have plenty of avtivities Their flamboyant Cuban nights bring the whole place to life and I was keen to try a different style of dancing whilst in Ibiza. Sadly, my timing didn’t line up to shimmy at one, but I did stop in for a drink and a signature cocktail, an arty twist on the classic Cuban favourites. And I was back 2026 with my matching sequins – which I’d wished I had with me last year!

Quieter and smaller than expected, it’s still perfect for a more relaxed Ibiza sunset experience. The bold colour scheme pops beautifully against the golden glow which is their vibrant signature style of the colourful and quirky Concept Hotel Group, but since this is the only one with a rooftop bar, it’s naturally my favourite!

Rooftop review roundup: A stunner of a rooftop, Gravity delivers that true wow moment as soon as you step out of the lift. Perched on the adults only TRS Hotel, it’s crowned with a huge deck, a rooftop pool (for hotel guests by day, open to everyone in the evening), and a DJ soundtrack to match. It’s a prime vantage point in Ibiza for those spectacular sunsets. I grabbed a drink (though sacrilege in a plastic beaker!) and lingered for the golden hour, soaking up the views and the buzz around the pool, it really is a picture-perfect sunset spot. That said, Gravity feels more like a rooftop treat if you’re staying at the hotel, rather than one you’d make a special trip for.

Rooftop review roundup: Aperture rooftop terrace is not especially high but still delivers lovely sea views. More budget than boujee, this is the kind of spot that wins you over with charm rather than champagne. The classic cocktails were on point refreshing, fun, and exactly what you need under the Ibiza sun. Open from breakfast, Aperture Terrace is your go-to recovery rooftop ideal for easing into the day or winding down after one. Whether you’re strolling home from the club or the beach this one hits just right, chilled with stunning sunset views – it’s become a great pit stop rooftop.

Rooftop review roundup: A little further out in San Antonio Bay, Sky of Salia Rooftop is a dreamy hideaway for hotel guests by day and open to all at night. Be warned: if you do stay, there’s little shade (same for most rooftop pools in the area). I popped in for a drink and, with more time, would have loved a quieter recovery dinner and sunset here. One downside: you’ll probably need a taxi, in the day it was too hot to walk, and by night it feels far.

Though more sleepy than other spots, you can still soak up the Ibiza vibe with a cocktail named just for it (yes, naturally I had to!) light, fresh, and perfect in the heat. A lovely spot for those wanting a stunning sea setting and quieter ambience.

Rooftop review roundup: The iconic Pikes Hotel, if walls could talk! Freddie Mercury’s permanent room remains as a tribute to him as does the ‘Mercury Margarita’ cocktail. Secret DJ nights never captured as no phones are allowed! Also, no under-27’s and many other quirky rules keep this venue legendary old sckool. Entry is free, unheard of for most of Ibiza — but you do need to get on the guestlist. Another way to enjoy Pikes is their rooftop. If you love a roast on a Sunday, then their Recovery Roast and the Rave is for you! Set on the rooftop (sometimes in the main restaurant, so check/ request), with views sprawling over the hills, you could almost forget this is Ibiza. Don’t feel like staying for the rave? Just soak in the sun afterwards. Not fancying the roast? The rooftop is open to non-guests for lunch, and you’re guaranteed entry later if you want to stay for the evening. This is a must for anyone wanting to relive old Ibiza or taste a glimpse into a world where Wham recorded their famed Club Tropicana yes, there’s even a cocktail named after it!

Rooftop review roundup: A very different vibe from London’s standard rooftops, this Ibiza rooftop bar radiates pure sunshine! The space, the sweetest staff, and those stunning sunset vibes remain timeless. There’s plenty of shade, essential if you’re visiting during the day, as it’s a total sun trap! If I’d had more time, I’d have happily lazed here, cocktail in hand, working my way through the menu until dark on my first visit. Instead I came back to try again and to see it in it’s true glory at sunset.

Rooftop review roundup: Walk through one of the castle archways, pass through a small tunnel, and at the other end, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped onto a movie set. On one side is the Instagram-famous café, S’Escalinata, and directly ahead is the beautiful Restaurante Plaza del Sol, with tables sprawling across the street. I’ve counted this as a rooftop because, while it’s not on the roof of a building, it is on the castle roof. What better place for an Ibiza princess to dine? Sadly, I ran out of nights to eat here, but it’s high on my list for my return as the food looked just as good as the setting.

Rooftop review roundup: I stumbled across Zielo Rooftop Bar and immediately wished I’d had time to book a night here. Even though it was quiet, the views over the bay were magnetic. Set in a gorgeous cove, it’s ideal for a longer stay, but with so many visitors making their Ibiza trips shorter and shorter, hidden gems like this can easily be overlooked which was why it was so quiet in peak season. Next visit, I’ll be back for more than just a rose! Their rooftop pool looked pretty magical especially as there is short supply in this area!

Rooftop review roundup: Not your classic rooftop bar, but set above the renowned Sa Punta restaurant, Patchwork Rooftop absolutely deserves a special spot on this list. I’d spotted it online and quickly became obsessed with its colourful, wonderful decor and “normal is boring” mantra. Opening for sunset, this rooftop bursts into radiant colour as the sun melts into the mountains. If you want a table right by the water, book for dinner but if you’re just after drinks, the high tables are perfect for perching, posing, and soaking up the views. It’s a little further from Ibiza Old Town, but absolutely worth the short cab ride for those golden-hour moments over the Mediterranean.

Rooftop review roundup:I was excited to visit Nobu’s rooftop but sadly was left disappointed. It turns out this rooftop truly shines only during special events, otherwise, it can feel ghostly quiet. I booked on a non event night, and the minimum spend and no-show charge were shockingly high. Which was weird to put off potential diners when it was so empty. We could have just walked in but I have learnt in Ibiza if you really want to go somewhere and can book, it is usually worth it. Ironically, our attendance wasn’t properly noted, and I ended up disputing the charges through my credit card company for days after.

That said, we still made the most of it, snapping pics and enjoying Nobu’s renowned sushi at sunset, that did not disappoint.

Rooftop review roundup: One of my all time fav hotels, been multiple times and never fails to make you feel special & sparkle. The only snag is it’s a taxi ride to Santa Eulalia and taxi’s are a wait! This isn’t somewhere you pop in to, this would be a lunch or dinner destination purely due to its location. Rooftop Review Roundup: Epic lounge is the right name for this rooftop restaurant and bar. Very relaxed with stunning sea views this is set at the 5 star Bless hotel. Bliss is what I would probably rename it as! Downstairs you will also find a Michelin star restaurant with quirky presentation and incredible food. But the crown in this rooftop jewel is its pool. The only downside is its not in Santa Eulalia so reliant on taxi’s to get around.

Rooftop Bars above Ibiza clubs: where you can escape the crowds

Before we get into Ibiza’s rooftop spaces within clubs, it’s worth mentioning that there is one notable exception. Up Sky Society is a rooftop bar in its own right, so unlike the venues below, you don’t need an event ticket or VIP upgrade to access it. Sitting next door to Ushuaïa, it’s also one of my favourite spots for escaping the crowds while still soaking up the atmosphere – something not all of these club rooftops can offer.

If you’re looking to dance, Ushuaïa is a great place to start as the venue itself is open-air. If it all gets a little much, you can always retreat upstairs and enjoy the show from above. Or start at Up Sky Society, get a feel for the atmosphere, and decide whether a club ticket is for you next time. One thing worth noting: if you do buy tickets for Ushuaïa, you can’t leave and re-enter the venue. Up Sky Society gives you a little more flexibility, which is another reason I rate it so highly.

Rooftop review roundup: Celebrating its 50th year, Amnesia is one of Ibiza’s most iconic clubs. Its name was chosen to evoke a place where you could escape your everyday life and troubles, so it’s perhaps no surprise that it also has a rooftop space offering a little respite from the crowds below.

Above Sky Lounge does come at an extra cost, which is a shame, but on the night I visited for Glitterbox, it didn’t feel entirely unreasonable – and for me, it was worth every penny. You’re not paying for spectacular views here. Instead, you’re paying for breathing space. Toilets without the queue. A bar you can actually get served at. Somewhere to sit down, gather your thoughts and take a break from the intensity of the dance floor below. Some call that VIP, I call it a way to party with neurodivercity.

If you’re someone who occasionally finds Ibiza a little overwhelming, Above Sky Lounge offers a safe place to retreat to before diving back into the party. Despite the rainproof cover making it feel slightly more indoors than outdoors, it still a vast difference to the dance floor below.

Rooftop review roundup: When I first saw the rooftop at Cova Santa online, it was love at first sight. But of course, I also know marketing pictures can be misleading. So on my next trip back to the island, I was determined to get myself onto that rooftop and see what the reality was. And I was not disapointed by the view, the vibe or the vino! The price tag though…

Like Pikes and 528, Cova Santa is set away from the beach club scene and Ibiza’s usual party hotspots. Immersed in nature and a little off the beaten track, that’s very much part of its charm. The downside? Getting a taxi home. Leave early and you’ll be absolutely fine. Stay until the masses descend later in the evening and… well, prepare to wait. One of the things I couldn’t work out before visiting was whether the rooftop was open to everyone or, like many Ibiza clubs, reserved exclusively for VIP guests. There was also a restaurant that looked as though it might be on the rooftop, but information online was surprisingly limited. So I emailed them. And genuinely, Belen was one of the most helpful people I’ve ever dealt with. We went back and forth while she patiently answered all my questions. Sadly, I concluded that the minimum spend for dinner was, bananas beyond our budget. I also discovered that although the restaurant is elevated, it isn’t actually part of the rooftop itself. She explained that the rooftop is generally only open at weekends, depending on the event and who’s playing. General entry to the event was much more reasonable than dinner mimum spend at €30. Though the rooftop wasn’t included. I had been right, it was VIP only, although there was the option to upgrade. Even then, it felt like a hefty amount to pay for just a few hours (as the club moves indoors from 11pm due to licensing laws).

So I did what any determined rooftop hunter would do. Arrived early and, somehow, blagged our way up there, helped by the fact it was still relatively quiet. And honestly? It was worth all the emails! Sofas, tables and sunset views stretching towards the mountains. It might not have the iconic sunset status of Café Mambo, but it was a beautiful spot to watch the day fade into night as the music below played. The night remained pretty quiet above the party except for the mossies who even in May were also ready to play!

For the right event, Cova Santa’s rooftop would be a fantastic place to take a breather. That said, because the venue itself remains open-air until 11pm, there’s arguably less need to escape the intensity than at some of Ibiza’s more enclosed clubs. As a rooftop in its own right, though, I’d happily return just to sink into those sofas and soak up the view – preferably without needing an event ticket to do so. If you’re looking for a different side of Ibiza while still embracing its nightlife, choose an event with music that suits you and you won’t be disappointed. As part of the Amnesia family, Cova Santa delivers that iconic Ibiza atmosphere… just with a rather iconic Ibiza price tag to match.

Rooftop review roundup: A rooftop bar at an Ibiza club that you don’t need VIP access for? Well, Hï Ibiza, you win. Bravo. I was genuinely impressed that anyone could access this space. Which also showcases digital art! A rooftop and a gallery in a club – no wonder it is called the Dom Perignon Rooftop – so much to celebrate! There was also the Magic Garden chill-out area, but of course, I was only interested in the rooftop. For me, after squeezing into the famous toilet DJ room ‘The Wild Corner’ which was fun, but also hot and chaotic – having somewhere to take a breath felt like a luxury. You can find the rooftop once you have past security from outside – there a big neon sign you can’t miss! No VIP wristband. No upgrade fee. Just a rooftop where you can reset, cool down and remind yourself that the party will still be there when you’re ready to dive back in. And honestly, in a club as full-on as Hï, that might just be its best-kept secret for anyone who can feel overwhelemed at times.

So when you next hear the lyrics, “It’s 9pm on a Friday, get the f** up, we’re going to Hï.”* there is no excuse! Although, for the record, it doesn’t actually open until 11.30pm, and before 1am it can be surprisingly quiet but it is cheaper if you don’t spend you savings on the drinks! Enjoy!

Rooftop review roundup: Is the Balcony VIP worth it at Pacha in Ibiza? Yes. Without a doubt. In fact, this is how I first stumbled across the fact that Pacha even had a rooftop bar. I was looking at the different areas in Pacha where I could dance but not feel so overwhelemed – as had heard Pasha was even more packed then previous years. Maybe due to the great DJs or maybe their more affordable drink packages either way it can feel a lot especially if neurodivergent.

So I was overly excited to find that the ‘VIP balcony ticket’ wasn’t a bridge suspended over the dance floor, as the map seemed to imply! But a big area above and behind the DJ that leads straight out to the rooftop. And the discovered that the rooftop bar was being run by Paradiso of Barcelona fame and where I had also had rooftop cocktails in Dubai! And when I say they were special, they were spectaular! So of course, I booked the Balcony VIP tickets. Yes, they were more expensive than general admission, but they weren’t “remortgage your house” levels of Ibiza ridiculous and with non minium spend it just made sense.

The space itself was large enough to comfortably accommodate everyone who had upgraded, although there weren’t loads of seats. But for anyone who isn’t a fan of being squished on a packed dancefloor, it was genuinely brilliant. Instead of enduring the crowds, I could dip in and out of them. Dance when I wanted to, retreat when I needed to, and enjoy Pacha on my own terms. And honestly, that made all the difference.

The reality of the Paradiso cocktail experience, however, wasn’t quite as magical as I’d hoped. There seemed to be some confusion surrounding the drinks packages. You can prepay for club drinks packages and also purchase discounted Paradiso cocktails. I had done both, but unfortunately the latter wasn’t honoured on the night. I’m currently looking into why, so hopefully I can help make sure the same thing doesn’t happen to you. But was Balcony VIP and rooftop worth it at Pacha Ibiza? Without doubt!

Rooftop review roundup: The infamous O Beach, one of Ibiza’s flagship beach clubs draws people to the island just to party here. I’d been to their Dubai offering earlier this year and thought I was prepared for the mayhem. I was not! It’s a lot for a neurodivergent, in both good and overwhelming ways. That’s why I love that they have a rooftop terrace. Unlike the Dubai spot, this isn’t the restaurant, it’s called the Sunset Roof Garden, with wall-to-wall sunbeds you can hire to hide away from the chaos below. Still vibrant and fun, this rooftop offers an amazing view of the iconic club and the ocean beyond. Front-row seats to some of the circus style theatrics make it a brilliant way to experience the day party, safely above the madness.

But a word of warning: don’t bring any ‘fun’ with you and I don’t mean your attitude! I happened to have my birthday crown and disco ball straws in my bag and was told to ditch them all! Gutted. I’d read the FAQ and so knew there was no fancy dress, but I wasn’t planning on wearing/using there they were for later elsewhere. There wasnt anywhere I could pick them up later either. It felt like overkill and put me on the back foot, I nearly didnt bother going in, I am glad I did but I won’t be back. However I know many who had their best Ibiza experince here so if you’re after energy, chaos, and a front-row view of Ibiza’s wildest day party, it’s an experience you won’t forget in different ways.
