2025 Update: I wrote this article a few years ago and crowned it the king of fun for London’s rooftop fun. I was back recently and I’m happy to report its crown remains firmly intact. If you’re looking for a rooftop bar in London that caters for groups, has epic skyline views, all the games, Insta worthy photo ops and is actually fun, Roof East might just be your perfect sky-high hangout.

For my Westies and honestly, anyone not based in East London of London, I know Stratford can feel far. But trust me, this rooftop is worth the trip. It’s a destination in itself, whether you’re going for the day or night. Once you’re up there, you won’t need (or want) to move!

Head out of the tube and cross to the old shopping center. Almost immediately you will see the elevators and signage to the roof. You will arrive to a colorful wonderful get away full of all the fun. Note if you look under 25 – take ID and any water you have will need to be drunk before entering (but you can keep you bottle)

And then it’s time for the fun and games! For busy times I would advise booking an games in advance to avoid disappointment but there are a lot to choose from you don’t have to book too. Beat the bar with bubbles anyone? Or Hit the Bullseye?

Or starting strong you may want to begin with a ‘Rooftop Love Bug’ or a ‘Big Hitters Punch’ or skip straight to desert where the Dubai pudding is being served from Piddaji stand. Yes move over chocolate bars this is pistachios and chocolate mash up and its magic!

I, however, chose to pose in the gold golf buggie with its angel wings, while enjoying my cocktail that yes matched my coat! And a coat was needed. While there is an area covered this rooftop is exposed to the elements and being on high it can be windy, so layer accordingly.

Of course, if you aren’t feeling that energetic you could wrap up, snuggle up and watch a movie under the stars at their famous rooftop cinema. For their website and opening times: Click here.
