The long awaited Sabine rooftop bar opened its doors on Thursday May 20th and you will not be disappointed.
The Leonardo Royal Hotel is its host and even waiting downstairs in its ground floor bar felt opulent and fabulous. Whisked up via a private rooftop lift to a garden oasis with one of the best views of St Pauls. It’s been worth the wait!
There is so much to for instagrammers to feast their phones on & non instaers to enjoy its hard to know where to start. I started with champagne.
Firstly, this rooftop is smart. It knows it’s in the U.K.! So it is wet and windy weather proof with an optional covered ceiling. Which was immediately used for their first few days when the weather didn’t get the sunshine memo. But that did not ruin this rooftop for me!
There are several areas on the rooftop. The main bar is a replica of their beautiful bar downstairs and transports you to a tropical oasis. Optionally and seasonally covered it means your perfectly made cocktail is never in the hands of a min hurricane like last week!! Perched at the bar or on one of the high stools you can still soak in the rooftop vibe even if inside. For a more intimate night then there is the romantic forestry foliage with St Paul’s perched over you and lights are lowered!
The outside terrace or true rooftop in my rules, runs in sections which sadly due to the rain and wind was only for the crazy to be out in (that may or may not have been me). But this will be the bustling scene for the summer.
The food was fantastic, all freshly cooked and GF taken care of effortlessly. We had the Lebanese chicken, burrata with peach and braised ribs and all so beautifully presented and truly delicious. Oh and for pudding the prettiest shot on the side, as be rude not to celebrate such a new rooftop to the scene.
This rooftop is here to rival many of London finest rooftop bars. The obvious comparison will be that of the infamous Madisons. It is well established as the boujee rooftop to be seen at and been the sole owner of such a sensational view of St Paul’s, until now! But sharing is caring right!?
